President’s Welcome
So to get started on this year of learning and sharing, be sure to attend our General Meeting on 16 September at a stunning new location: The British Academy at 10 Carlton House Terrace. Ascend the grand staircase within this prestigious, glorious building and enter the exciting world of events KCWC leaders have planned for you. Activities now number more than 35, with new groups limited only by the imagination, expertise and willingness of our members to volunteer their time and skills. We welcome your suggestions of any new area you wish KCWC to explore. You need only to approach the Activity Leader Liaison Claire Tremeer or any Board Member with your ideas.
This Meet and Greet Social General Meeting gives you opportunities beyond registering for Activities and Events. Come and discover the hidden values embedded in your KCWC Annual Membership – already the best deal in London at £65! Our Member Benefit companies will be on hand to explain the exclusive and valuable discounts your membership in KCWC earns you with these vendors and service providers. Also meet our loyal Corporate Advertisers whose products and services we share with our readership both in the Newsletter and on our Website. Please remember, you are always welcome to bring a guest to any KCWC General Meeting. The September one is ideal: showcasing the advantages and activities KCWC membership offers, and with the Treblemakers seductively serenading, what better atmosphere to entice a friend to “join the Club”?
As usual, our Board members and Activity Leaders will be present to welcome you and answer any questions about KCWC. I am grateful to all these gracious volunteers who publicly begin their year of service for you, our members, at this September meeting. But they have been getting their departments in readiness for the exciting year ahead since 1 August when they officially took office. Be on the lookout in upcoming newsletters and on the Web and E-News for details of events in Programmes, Hospitality or Special Events, to name a few. KCWC Kids is already planning the Halloween Party on 30 October and Annual Charity Events Co-ordinators are hard at work on the 13 November Nearly New Sale, both important dates on our KCWC Calendar.
So I hope you have all returned from your Summer holidays well-rested, ready and eager to embark on a new year of KCWC fun with your sister members. I look forward to welcoming you on 16 September when I will enjoy meeting new members, making new friends and greeting treasured familiar ones again. See you at the British Academy!
