Just in time for Christmas, Mimi Doulton explores some of opera’s most famous fairy tale adaptations. Often with elements of make-believe in their fantastic story lines, operas including Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Rossini’s Cinderella promise a touch of magic at this glittering time of year.
