Hilly Highgate

Rachel Kolsky, our Blue Badge guide, will take us around the delightful Highgate, one of London’s favourite urban villages which has been a magnet for centuries for those who crave a London base but one with privacy.
Featuring homes of famous personalities including Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Yehudi Menuhin, Margaret Rutherford and George Michael, there is also Waterlow Park with its glorious views across London.
We will note Lauderdale House, Highgate School alma mata of John Betjeman, and award winning modern architecture. We will see the entrance to the famous Highgate Cemetery (the walk does not include admission), but
do allow time, if you can, to visit in the cemetery in the afternoon.
The walk will end in Highgate Village for eateries and shops and a downhill walk back to the Northern Line but also lots of buses.
