Sometimes the mere mention of the word “crystal” brings to mind the French master Rene Lalique. Known for creations in glazed glass art, and primarily for creations that defined the Art Deco style in crystal, Lalique’s work graced everything from the interiors of great liners (the SS Normandie) to a New Jersey “glass church” to Rolls Royce hood ornaments. Old pieces are coveted as precious and desirable antiques. New production by the factory continuing in his name is equally prestigious and a mark of fine taste. A component of museum collections worldwide, Lalique is synonymous with luxury and fine craftsmanship. Join us, at the invitation of the BADA Friends, to hear the delightful Nicholas Merchant explain Lalique via Zoom.
