Blue Badge Guide Rachel Kolsky will take us through Hoxton. Often overlooked as one of London’s more down-at-heel neighbourhoods, Hoxton is actually a delight, being home to the terracotta exuberance of the Alexandra Dining Rooms, mosaics and tiling showcasing the history of the area, philanthropy in the form of libraries, schools and missions, film locations, an adorable sculpture by Stik, a curiously shaped hotel and Hoxton Hall, one of London’s few remaining authentic music halls. The tour ends after about two hours beside Shoreditch Park at Gainsborough Studios, now flats, but once Hitchcock’s workplace.
*Habs is short for Haberdashers School, originally established in Hoxton
