Antiques & Design is thrilled to have young, enthusiastic auctioneer Izzie Balmer FGA DGA join us for a tea time talk. Filmed from Wessex Auction Rooms, Izzie will discuss her antiquing escapades most recently on the BBC Antiques Road Trip (Regular and Celebrity versions), as well as her debut on BBC Bargain Hunt, where she was spotted at the podium as the auctioneer. Izzie is a specialist in jewellery and silver. Her excitement and energy are infectious, explaining her rise as a viewer favourite. “People ask me what my favourite moment was, but how can I choose just one moment? One thing I learned quickly is that it’s a lot harder to buy an item from an antiques shop and make a profit at auction than I thought it would be. I had to listen to my head and not my heart.”

Join us as I put some questions to her about her career as a woman in the antiques trade, alongside the opportunity for you to ask questions too.
