Continuing in our exploration of Contemporary Art, art historian Marie-Anne Mancio explores 60s Pop Art titans Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein in this second Tea Time Talk.

Inventing and defining an artistic genre known as Pop, Warhol and Lichtenstein popularised every day consumer and comic imagery finding in both a new art form. While Warhol memorialised soup cans and movie stars as iconic imagery, Lichtenstein created large scale paintings in a comic book style. Both dominated the New York art scene in the 60s and 70s. This lecture will explore the similarities and differences defining the two.

We welcome back to KCWC art historian and author Marie-Anne Mancio for another insight into Contemporary Art.
