President's Letter November/December 2017

Monday 23 October

Winter is coming and it is time to cozy up by the fire, enjoy the festivities, plan that overdue skiing trip or go to a tropical paradise to soak up the sun. Whatever makes you and your family happy, it is time to celebrate. It is also time to look ahead to the NewYear and make resolutions for a better future and even try new things that bring renewed excitement to our lives.

kcwc is a reflection of those wishes. Our Members are always keen to try something new and meet new friends. It is an open organization that welcomes ladies from all over the world with diverse backgrounds and that is what makes our Club so special. I am very proud to be a member and to volunteer for kcwc.

Our upcoming General Meetings will reflect this celebratory mood. On 16 November we welcome Ben Fogle as our keynote speaker at the Royal Geographical Society. Famous for his adventures across the globe, Ben is a household name in British television, having had his programmes broadcasted by the BBC, ITV, Channel 5 and Sky. At his talk, he will share details about his fascinating life experiences and career.

On 7 December we host a very festive General Meeting with a Christmas market at the Royal Geographical Society where our Members will get the chance to do some special shopping and find those all-important gifts for friends and relatives. Please don’t forget to bring your donations to our traditional Christmas baskets drive organized by our Volunteers for Charity. These treats can make a big difference in people’s lives. Please contact for more information on how you can help.

To continue our festivities at our December General Meeting, we will then be treated to a wonderful concert by The Queen’s Six. Based at Windsor Castle, they make up half of the Lay Clerks of St George’s Chapel, whose homes lie within the castle walls and perform on a regular basis for the Royal Family.

Do come along and bring your friends to our General Meetings as these very special events offer a great chance to enjoy our Club and learn more about what is coming up in the next season.

I also would like to take this opportunity to thank all volunteers who have helped kcwc become the organization it is. Many thanks to all past and present Board Members, past Presidents, Activity Leaders and helpers who have made and still make the difference in our daily lives as Members. I wish all of you all the best in the festive season and a happy 2018!

Thank you also to all our Members for their enduring support. My very best wishes to you and your families and a wonderful NewYear!

All the best,

Catia Dal Poz
