Alastair Campbell is the writer, strategist and podcaster initially known for his role as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair's spokesman, press secretary and director of communications, and still a highly visible public figure as co-host of Britain's most popular podcast, The Rest is Politics, as well as an active campaigner for charitable campaigning, not least in the field of mental health.
Born in Yorkshire, the son of a vet, Alastair Campbell has enjoyed a hugely colourful career, moving from journalism to become the high-profile 'Prime Minister's Official Spokesman' during Tony Blair's years in Downing Street.
