Join us on Friday 28th August at 7pm for our A Celebration of Cheddar Virtual Cheese Tasting — an evening dedicated to Britain’s most iconic cheese of artisan cheeses and crackers, delivered to your door for the perfect night in. Paxton & Whitfield is one of the oldest cheese mongers of London dating back to 1742, a Royal Warrant Owner since 1850. The cheeses will be curated, delivered to your door and online tasting will be led by the experienced cheese mongers of Paxton & Witfield.
From clothbound farmhouse classics to modern interpretations from some of the the country's most celebrated cheesemakers, this guided online event explores the remarkable diversity, heritage and craftsmanship behind England's favourite cheese. Discover how differences in milk, terroir, maturation and cheesemaking techniques can create an astonishing range of flavours and textures, all within a single style.
Throughout the evening, you'll taste a curated selection of exceptional Cheddars, learning how to assess their character, understand what makes a truly great Cheddar, and explore the stories of the makers behind them. Along the way, our cheesemongers will share serving suggestions, pairing recommendations and insider knowledge gained from more than two centuries of selecting and maturing fine cheese. Whether you're a lifelong Cheddar enthusiast or simply curious to deepen your appreciation of artisan cheese, this tasting offers a fascinating journey through one of England's greatest culinary treasures.
Your tasting pack will be delivered in advance and includes a selection of carefully chosen cheeses, crackers, tasting notes and joining instructions for the live online event.
