Experience Shakespeare's epic thriller in the intimate candlelit setting of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. Joe Hill-Gibbons returns to direct Shakespeare's powerful and timely story of loyalty, betrayal, and political conflict.
About the Playhouse
The Sam Wanamaker playhouse is an indoor theatre forming part of the Shakespeare's Globe complex. It is an intimate space, designed to replicate theatres of Shakespeare's time. Please be aware that we will be sitting on cushioned benches. Some have back support, others are in the front row and you can lean onto the front of the box. For further details, please check their website.
Tickets will be allocated as you sign up, on a first come first served basis. Our seats are in the Lower Gallery on each side of the stage, close to the action. An atmospheric, candlelit experience.
Note: You may also like to be aware that in conjunction with the theatre visit, we have organised a "Know Before You Go" lecture. Sarah James, the inspiring tutor of our Discovering Shakespeare course at Imperial College, will unlock Julius Caesar for us. The lecture will be held at Kent House on the afternoon of Thursday 12 November. Cost £27. Please see the separate event listing for timing and to sign-up.
