I am delighted to be able to introduce KCWC members to Conor Deasy, a furniture restorer with the Royal Collections Trust. A member of BAFRA, the British Antique Furniture Restorers’ Association and the owner of Conor Deasy Craft, he is a specialist in the “tools of the trade” when it comes to re-caning a chair or reweaving a rush seat. Indeed he has hands on expertise in all manner of wood restoration and is now proudly applying these skills to the prestigious conservation rooms of the Royal Collection Trust which oversees the royal family’s vast and precious collections. He therefore works alongside gilders, metal workers, paint restorers and other gifted craftspeople whose work we will ask him to discuss.
Please join us for this rare opportunity to get a peak inside how decorative arts restoration works.
