Lagos Fashion Week is a leading fashion event in Nigeria and ultimately drives the African fashion industry. Ms. Akerele established this eminent four day event in 2011 and continues to grow every year. More than 60 African designers are featured and over 12,000 people visit annually.
She is particularly interested in promoting sustainability through initiatives such as Woven Threads and Green Access. She has been an advisor at V&A, MOMA and the British Fashion Council.
