Bermondsey’s Contemporary Art Galleries – A Guided Tour

5 November @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Please join KCWC’s Contemporary Art Group for a guided tour of the best (contemporary art) of Bermondsey Street! Bermondsey Street is one of London’s hidden gems: a street full of artisan shops and cafes and even a glass-blowing studio. It is also home to some of the best contemporary art galleries in London. Starting at Kristin Hjellegjerde, who recently opened her gallery space in London, we will visit one of London’s largest galleries, White Cube, as well as one of London’s smallest, Cecilia Brunson Projects, which is situated in an extension of the owner’s home. We will end with an unusual art space on Bermondsey Square, which also hosts a small antique market every Friday.

Our guide will be Sabine Casparie. Sabine worked as a lawyer before making a career change into art, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Art History at the Courtauld Institute of Art in 2011, and a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Art at Christie’s Education, London in 2012. Since then, she has led contemporary art tours and artist studio tours in and around London. Sabine also teaches contemporary art classes on Zoom and writes a quarterly blog on contemporary art.
