The arrival of the Lizzie Line at Woolwich has consolidated this area as a ‘must visit’ and for many a ‘must move to’ location. Its transformation from the largest ordnance works in Europe, which once employed over 80,000 people, to a residential and cultural neighbourhood is amazing. Come discover its many historic associations ranging from fireworks to WWI female munitions workers, and public art. Woolwich town centre is also not ignored, full as it is of Victorian civic pride at its best with Town Hall, Polytechnic and Library buildings.
We will meet Rachel at the exit of Woolwich Station on the Elizabeth Line and will end our near 3 hours walk close to eateries, riverside walkways and the Elizabeth Line.
