Cartier – A Lecture on the Blockbuster Victoria and Albert Museum Exhibit

29 April @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

tiaracartier

Few are unaware of the name Cartier. Its mere mention conjures glittering imagery of artistic jewels created by skilled craftsmen since the turn of the 20th century. Many of you may remember our Covid period general meeting speaker, Francesca Cartier Brickell on the publication of her book about her illustrious family renowned for their sourcing of gems as well as their instincts for style. Now the Victoria and Albert Museum is hosting a major exhibition beginning April 12 which will herald the fabled legacy of Cartier by exhibiting more than 350 objects – historic gemstones, jewels, watches, and clocks all while revealing the majestic alchemy of their art and design.

Join us as Anne Haworth, a V and A lecturer, introduces us to what the exhibit will present. Museum exhibit tickets to non V and A members are being released soon for May through the exhibition end. I urge you to go to the museum website for purchase or perhaps ask a KCWC member who is also a V and A Friend to allow you entrance as her guest.

This is going to be a magical morning of bracelets, brooches and bibelots.  No tiara required for entry but don’t we wish we had one?
