December Speaker Series Holiday Celebration Lunch at the RAF Club Piccadilly – SOLD OUT

14 December, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

RAF

KCWC is thrilled to offer a pre holiday celebration lunch at the Royal Air Force Club, a members only facility located on London’s historic Piccadilly. Our guest speaker, renown British food historian and distinguished member of the Guild of Arts Scholars, Marc Meltonville, will help us understand through his illustrated presentation how the British Christmas table came to be.

A “home away from home” for Officers of the Royal Air Force and their families, the elegant atmosphere of the RAF Club is valued by members as a distinguished landmark where traditions, camaraderie and fine dining reign. Lunch will comprise a three-course festive menu and will include a welcome glass of prosecco.

While we share our own feast toasting the season with friends, Marc will take us on another culinary journey.  A Dickens Christmas: plum pudding, mince pies and goose – these are seen as the most English of traditions. But did it all start in Victorian England? Marc, a veteran of Royal Palace kitchens,  works out of Hampton Court where he has been instrumental in recreating the sumptuous meals of Tudor chefs. Regularly featured on the BBC discussing food history, Marc has spoken internationally about his specialty area. It is an honour to welcome him to KCWC.

Please note that the December Speaker Series General Meeting is open to members and guests however all attending must purchase the luncheon. Do be sure to secure your places early as venue capacity is limited.
