Celebrating in 2021 its centenary, the Oriental Ceramic Society is a leading global institution for the study of Asian ceramics. Western trailblazers in the early 20th century for the study of Eastern art, both as collectors and scholars, the carefully curated objects of the exhibit showcase the Society’s contribution to connoisseurship of Oriental decorative arts.
This exhibition brings together, for the first time, over 100 rare objects dating back 3000 years to recount the rich history of the society. Ceramics, bronzes, jades, sculptures and works of art from some of the most outstanding UK collections -including private – are on display.
We are privileged to be invited to visit on a day when the gallery is closed to the public for a guided visit by Anne Haworth, Oriental ceramics specialist lecturer at the V and A. Do join us for this exclusive event.
