Day at Cliveden with Boat Trip and Afternoon Tea

4 October, 2021

cliveden-statue-and-parterre

A wonderful day out to historic Cliveden with tea and coffee on arrival, an exclusive private house tour and historical commentary, a 45 minute private river cruise on the Cliveden river launch sailing past Spring Cottage (a retreat built for Queen Victoria) followed by afternoon tea in a lovely private dining room.

Due to the limited capacity of the river launch (10 persons) this event is exclusively for 20 guests.

Cliveden House is a privately owned Grade 1 stately home and five-star, award-winning hotel with a back story of over 350 years of powerful personalities, iconic parties and scandalous affairs. It famously was the location of the Profumo affair.

Built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a gift to his mistress, Cliveden House has remained a pinnacle of intrigue and glamour for the elite. Enriched with antique furniture and period features, it has stayed true to its roots whilst also providing a luxurious setting to rest, meet and play.

It is a beautiful country house set in 376 acres of National Trust grounds that border the river Thames. Access to the National Trust grounds is included in this event.

Ladies to make their own way to the location, with a free Cliveden minibus transfer available for those who wish to travel by train and plenty of parking for those wanting to drive.
