From Kings to Hipsters: The Art of British Perfumery…a Guided Tour!

10 February, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Nuptual

And now for something a bit different, just in time for Valentine’s Day! If you have never thought of the creation of a perfume as an art, then this tour will definitely change your mind! Natalia Markland, a Fragrance Foundation UK Academy-trained perfume specialist and historian, will be your guide through the mysteries and secrets of the historic British houses and their creations. Since the end of the XVII century Britain successfully competed with Italy and France for the right to be called the capital of perfume industry. Such world-famous British houses as Floris, Atkinsons, Penhaligon’s and Grossmith created exceptional scents for the rich and royals of the world.

During the 3-hour immersive tour, you will discover tastes and preferences of Queen Victoria & Elisabeth II, Duke Orloff & Winston Churchill; understand the role of a royal perfumer and learn wedding scents of Princess Diana, Kate Middleton & Meagan Markle. We will visit VIP rooms and special perfumeries, and may even have the opportunity to meet some of the creators in person. We are limited to 6 places due to the small spaces we will visit, but if there is sufficient demand, a second tour will be scheduled later in the month, depending on the guide’s availability.
