Know Before You Go: The Rossettis Part 1

10 May, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Unknown-3

Tate Britain hosts a block buster exhibit of The Rossettis this spring offering an exciting opportunity to examine the work of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and key figures within his circle including his sister, Christina. The exhibition’s inclusion of photography, poetry and drawings alongside paintings provides new and fascinating insights into the Victorian avant-garde.

Looking closely at key works by Rossetti and colleagues, our first session will trace the developments of Dante Gabriel Rossetti’s work from Pre-Raphaelite artist to important contributor to Aestheticism and the cult of beauty.

You may arrive at the East India Club beginning at 9:30 for a 10 am start.  We will have a coffee break in the middle and aim to finish by 12:15.

We are very happy to welcome back one of our favourite lecturers, Jo Rhymer.
