In celebration of International Women’s Day, KCWC highlights another accomplished woman in her chosen profession – the law: Pamela Scriven, KC . Renown in the field of children’s law, Ms Scriven has advocated in this emotionally charged area in cases involving complex allegations, be they child abduction, abuse, adoption and family disputes. Educated at University College, London, Ms Scriven also was a visiting professor at the University of Niigata, Japan in August 1994 and again in November 1997. Called to the bar in 1970, Ms Scriven took Silk in 1992 in recogntion of her sensitive and effective representation in public law cases where her tremendous ability as a tactician and practitioner shown. Join us as we explore her challenging and accomplished career arguing as a barrister in some of the most fractious and complicated legal cases. Discover too the intricacies of the UK legal system and the honour of the designation King’s Counsel – KC.
