
Our guest speaker this month is Hilde Tonne, the highly successful Norwegian business executive. Ms Tonne qualified as a civil engineer, and after attaining a master’s degree in petroleum technology, established her career in the energy sector. Between 2021 and 2024 Ms Tonne was the CEO of Statnett SF, the Norwegian state-owned enterprise responsible for operating the stem power grid in Norway. She has held senior global positions in leadership, business strategy, corporate management, strategic planning and business development at Ramboll Group, Telenor Group, Hafslund AS, Danske Bank, the Research Council of Norway and Norsk Hydro. From 1 April 2025 she will become Non-Executive Chair of Arup Group Limited the British multinational services firm. Having lived and worked in Bangkok and Copenhagen, Ms Tonne is a vocal supporter of Norway’s successful 40% quota rule for women on the supervisory boards of Norwegian listed companies and is uniquely positioned to address us on this issue, diversity/equity/inclusion, green technology, her experience of running global businesses and the benefits of multiculturalism.
