In Poland, Christmas Eve Dinner – Wigilia – is the most important celebration of Christmas and the day of the main feast. Tradition calls for 12 meat-free courses, cooked specifically for this special evening and only once a year. One should try every dish and dessert served to secure good luck throughout the upcoming 12 months.
Dominika Kaliszewska is a recipe developer and the author of the blog “Polly Eats London”, who indulges residents of Ealing with her Homemade French Madeleines and supplies local coffee shops with delicious homemade food. Dominika will take us through the culinary tradition and traditional flavours of Wigilia. She will demonstrate how to make small mushroom dumplings, called uszka, served with red beetroot soup – borscht. The demonstration will be followed by tasting traditional Christmas Eve dishes prepared and served by the Polly Eats London team. Upon departure, each guest will receive a small Christmas gift from Polly Eats London.
This event will be held at Member’s house in Kensington. Patricia Marulana has kindly agreed to host this Foodies activity. Details of her full address will be provided to participants close to the date.
