Ribbons And Wrappings: The History Of Gifting

1 December, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

AC-Lilies-of-the-Valley

Giving and receiving is a universal custom, not just at Christmas but year-round. But when and how did gifting originate? From the gold, frankincense and myrrh offered by the Three Wise Men, to gifts for the departed in Egyptian times, to celebrating birthdays and festivals worldwide, giving has transcended all societies and cultures for thousands of years.

From the Statue of Liberty gifted by France to America, to “unbirthday” presents when not your birthday, there is a gift for everyone to enjoy. Our guide will be Rachel Kolsky .

Please note this Zoom lecture will be recorded, however if the time or day does not suit you, let us know and we can send you a link to view it at your leisure (and within 72 hours).
