Led by a very informative and entertaining City of London guide, this walking tour explores the area around Trinity House. We will visit a variety of sites including some referenced in Samuel Pepys famous diaries; the location of the scaffolds where prisioners held in the Tower of London ultimately met their end; and the ancient All Hallows by the Tower church which is the oldest church in the City of London. The museum under the church is particularly interesting as a Roman tessellated floor was found there indicating a domestic house had been on the site in the late 2nd Century. There are also ancient registers dating back to the 16th century with entries including the baptism of William Penn, the marriage of John Quincy-Adams.
For a full day out in the area, consider joining us on the Trinity House tour in the morning.
