After the long summer sojourn, the Programmes team has decided to forgo the September General Meeting in favour of a special September General Meeting “Welcome Back Luncheon” at London’s newest and most stylish five-star Hotel – The Mayfair Townhouse – discreetly located amongst the elegant Grade II listed Georgian buildings of Half Moon Street.
Enjoy a delicious three-course lunch with a glass of wine, carefully prepared by the Great British Chef, Adam Simmonds. Adam trained under Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, achieved his first Michelin star in 2006 at Ynyshire Hall and his second at Danesfield House in 2010. Most recently he was Head Chef at Belmond Cadogan Hotel and Executive Chef at the Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge.
We will dine in the beautiful “Green Park” Room on the Lower Ground Floor, where we will be surrounded by over 500 pieces of hand-picked and carefully curated art from well-known and emerging artists to celebrate different creators of our time – poets, artists and writers. “Alfie”, the two-metre-tall Swarovski-encrusted peacock designed by Clarita Brinkerhoff, stands tall to greet you in the lobby and you will see quirky framed vulpine art throughout the hotel in a nod to the Townhouse’s mascot – the fox – chosen for its subversive characteristics and omnipresence in both town and country!
