Stanley Picker, born in New York in 1913, was a patron of the arts who formed a very individual collection of 20th century sculptures and paintings. These were displayed in a wonderful modern house designed by Kenneth Wood specifically to house the art works. Planned to maximise its location on a hillside, the house is split-level with a design that remains a time capsule reflective of its period, the 1960’s. It became a home where Mr. Picker enjoyed entertaining until his death in England in 1982.
