Tea Time Talk – The Conservation of Stained Glass

16 February, 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

stainedglass

Through its thousand-year history, stained glass has dominated major cathedrals and churches across the world. These beautiful works of art and storytelling have surprisingly, in the main, withstood and survived the ravages of time. However, when conservation is needed, then this has to be undertaken by a highly skilled professional. Professor Sarah Brown is just such an individual, specialising in stained glass history and conservation. Combining her role as Director of the York Glaziers Trust with her professorship at York University, Prof. Brown has recently overseen the conservation of the Great East Window at York Minster. A writer of various books on stained glass, Sarah Brown is the guest speaker of our friends at the BADA Friends Trust to whom we are, as ever, grateful for allowing us to join this Zoom event.
