PLEASE NOTE – STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR THIS ZOOM TALK RESCHEDULED Due to Ilness from January 16 to FEBRUARY 6
In this the last of our Tea Time Talks with Nicholas Merchant on the English Country House, we are introduced to Cheshire’s Henbury Hall. Constructed in the 1980s in the New Classical Style, the house is based on the designs of Andrea Palladio’s stunning Villa Rotunda in Vicenza famously copied by Lord Burlington at Chiswick House in London. Sitting in a commanding landscape, the new built home combines Grade Two Listed stables from the 16th century alongside Dower House buildings also predating the home’s modern era. Delight in the description of Henbury Hall widely regarded as the most important country house built in the 20th century in England.
