PARTNERS AND FRIENDS ARE WELCOME!

The Kent House Series is a themed portfolio of contemporary author talks presented monthly each season with acclaimed authors and inspiring interviewers.

Join us on 3rd July as Stewart Collins interviews author Reverend Richard Coles, about his most recent mystery, A Death on Location.

The Reverend Richard Coles needs little introduction, being very much one of our national treasures, not only a former pop star with ‘80s band The Communards, but also a much loved broadcaster and ordained Anglican priest. A Death on Location is Richard’s fourth foray into the world of the murder mystery, his previous three all having made it to No1 in the Sunday Times Bestsellers List.  His other books include a bestselling autobiography, Fathomless Riches, and the bereavement bestseller the Madness of Grief, written after the death of his partner, David Coles.

Stewart Collins is the Literary Director of the Kent House Series. As well as having written for the stage and national publications, Stewart has been the artistic director of numerous performance and literary festivals and founder of both Stoke on Trent and Petworth Literary Festivals.

About the book (published 5th June 2025):

In the spring of 1990, we return to Champton, where the characters we’ve come to love are all aflutter as a glamorous Hollywood movie takes over Champton House as its set location.  As the actors and extras hired from the village don their farthingales, gowns and crowns for a masque set in the 1600s, a murder interrupts filming on set, and it’s an ingenious one . . . Can Daniel solve the mystery with help from his sidekick Detective Sergeant Neil Vanloo, even when things are so sticky between them?
