KCWC again attracts an expert lecturer in her field, Nixi Cura, who founded and ran the Arts of China MLitt and PhD programmes at Christies Education, London and is now a Senior Teaching Fellow at SOAS, University of London.  A renown authority, she will weave a spell revealing the archaeological and historical magic of Chinese Ceramics. Long-coveted by collectors and connoisseurs, this art form’s value goes well beyond its legendary status, beauty and artistry. Ceramics crafted by Chinese masters captured an ancient culture with a repertory of important forms, designs, materials and techniques all of which we will discover from the examples of acknowledged masterpieces. We will learn about trends in the market and collecting to guide and hone our own discernment and appreciation of the sublime ceramics that will be revealed as much more than mere Chinese “pots.”
