Walking In Dickens’ Footsteps

1 April, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Screen Shot 2022-02-22 at 12.33.24 PM

Following in the footsteps of Charles Dickens, from his traumatic childhood, his early career in the law and his triumphant success as a world famous novelist, we will walk with Tim Potter through London.

Starting at Embankment tube, close to the site of Warren’s Blacking Factory where the young Charles was set to work to pay his father’s debts; we explore his playground around the Adelphi; his literary fame round Covent Garden; his early career in the law and his great success in Bloomsbury.

Our walk will end outside the wonderful Dickens Museum in Doughty Street, Bloomsbury.

If there is sufficient demand, the walk will also be offered in the afternoon.  Please contact the activity leader, Marian Vobach, if you are interested.
