This drawing class is a fun, low-pressure, relaxed art class for everyone from complete beginners to those who are keen to continue developing their drawing skills. The classes will cover areas such as proportion, perspective, negative space, use of tone, use of line, and other skills that help develop realistic depictions and you do not have to have attended the previous terms to participate.
All materials are provided and a range of subjects will be available for you to work from each week, depending on your previous experience so that everyone can progress at their own pace.
The general structure of each class is a demonstration of a set skill and an explanation of how to use the materials provided. The majority of the class time will be spent working on the assigned project while the instructor works individually with participants. Each class is a self-contained unit focusing on one skill and missing one class won’t leave you behind. Detailed descriptions of missed classes can be emailed out if requested.
Classes will be held at St. Mary’s Church Hall in West Kensington, a comfortable location with clean, spacious, and heated rooms as well as access to kitchen facilities for tea/coffee.
The instructor, Robyn Lister, has taught this class several times before, most recently at the American Women’s Club of Berkshire & Surrey. She has kindly offered to donate all of her proceeds to charities identified by the Volunteer for Charity activity group.
Please note you must purchase tickets for the entire series. Dates are 24 May, 31 May, 7 June, and 14 June 2024.
