Our GM Speaker this month is Belinda Goldsmith. Belinda is Save the Children’s Global
Media Director, based in London. She joined Save the Children in 2021 after nearly 30 years with Reuters as a foreign correspondent, senior editor, and Editor-in-Chief of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the corporation’s global charity, where she led a team of up to 55 journalists and won a list of awards for investigations and multi-media storytelling focused on humanitarian news. Belinda was Australian Associated Press’s first female correspondent to be based in Papua New Guinea, where she was recruited by Reuters. She held bureau posts for Reuters in Australia, Sweden, United States and the UK, and reported from more than 35 countries on political, financial, general and humanitarian news. Belinda has been a volunteer for Save the Children since 2014. She is also a trustee of The Charlotte Project, a charity that runs workshops on fake news for school students, a visiting lecturer at City, University of London, and a regular speaker at events about humanitarian journalism and careers in the media.
