Small Museums Of The World – Musée Nissim De Camondo, Paris

11 January, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

nissim2

In this, lecture three in our series with BADA and Nicholas Merchant on small museums of the world, we start the New Year in Paris – what could be better than that! Our virtual stop is the Musée Nissim de Camondo, a jewel like collection housed in the home of the collector.

Oriented to restore appreciation for the decorative arts of the 18th and 19th centuries, the museum is the culmination of the passion of two families – Cahen d’Anvers and Moise de Camondo –  for the Ancien Regime. We will also discover how elegant life could be in that period between WW1 and 2 for the modern bourgeoisie as exhibited in the collections lovingly assembled to highlight the unique style that is the French way of life.
