This is a must see exhibit at the Tate Modern on Hogarth’s work. His work captures the dramatic changes of European society and culture during the 18th century. He was brilliant at depicting the messy multiplicity of 18th century life. He was not alone: artists from across the continent created their own images of daily life. This show brings together Hogarth’s greatest works with those of his European peers. Works on display include Francesco Guardi in Venice and Chardin in Paris, plus others. We welcome back Dr. David Bellingham from Sotheby’s to be our lecturer.
Please arrive from 9:30am for a 10:00am start. We will have a break for coffee half-way into the lecture.
