“It’s May, it’s May, the month of yes you may
The time for every frivolous whim, proper or im”
Lerner and Loewe said it best in describing how our hearts sing when Spring appears. And to celebrate song at the highest level, KCWC has invited James Clutton, Chief Executive and Director of Opera at Opera Holland Park as our guest speaker.
Having joined Opera Holland Park in 2000, Clutton in collaboration with Michael Volpe, oversaw a vast expansion of the company’s work immediately delivering 48 performances in his first 2001 season. Formed in 1996, this independent charity has enjoyed international renown producing a repertoire of comedies, tragedies, and the avant garde all while nurturing new talent. Opera Holland Park is a vital part of its surrounding community and the London artistic cultural scene. Join us to learn about the vitality of this London institution right in our back yard. Details of operas we might attend to come.
