Guided Tour of Fulham Palace Gardens by Head Gardener Lucy Hart alongside a visit to the neighbouring Fulham Palace Allotments

15 October, 2020 @ 10:45 am - 1:00 pm

1

Set on the banks of the River Thames, Fulham Palace was the home of the Bishops of London for over 1,300 years, with 13 acres of botanic gardens, which include a 500-year-old Holm Oak and a beautiful walled garden. Our guided tour with Head Gardener Lucy Hart will last an hour, after which you can either stay on to enjoy lunch in the cafe or visit their impressive Museum of History for which you can prebook your free ticket at https://fulhampalace.digitickets.co.uk/event-tickets/30103?catID=29571&.

This is also a great opportunity to visit the neighbouring private Allotments, which have been in existence for over a hundred years. Lucy Schoonhoven, your Activity Leader and plot-holder of 23 years, is able to take us into this hidden oasis before and after the tour at Fulham Palace and show us the many ways in which fruit and vegetables are grown here!

Due to current social distancing rules we can only visit the Allotments in groups of 6, which will take place either side of the Fulham Palace garden tour. Once you have RSVP’d, Lucy will contact you to book in your preferred time slot for the Allotments visit.

Proposed Schedule:

11:00am – 11:45am Allotment Tour (Group 1) with Activity Leader Lucy Schoonhoven (meet outside Putney Bridge station at 10:45am)

12:00pm – 1:00pm Fulham Palace Garden tour with Head Gardener Lucy Hart (meet in Fulham Palace courtyard at 11:50am) Bishops Avenue, SW6 6EA

1:00pm – 2:45pm Allotment Tour (Groups 2 & 3) with Activity Leader Lucy Schoonhoven

Suitable shoes should be worn as some paths are narrow and it may be muddy.
